Mission/ServiceRisk - Taking Mission and Service
"Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me." Matthew 25:40
Risk-Taking Mission and Service includes the projects, the efforts, and the ministry we share to change the lives and conditions of people around the world. These are concrete ways we reach out in love. Risk-Taking Mission and Service takes us into ministries that stretch our comfort zones beyond the circle of relationships and practices that routinely define our faith commitments. It stretches us to do something for the good of others. That may not be automatic, easy, common, or accepted, but this is the love Christ pulls out of us. When we strongly value Risk-Taking Mission and Service we not only support the volunteers in church-sponsored projects but also encourage and celebrate the service everyone performs through community agencies and organizations.
Tuesday Banquet Our faith community is part of this event that is held at St.Bridget's Catholic Church on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. We help with the cooking and clean-up. This is a free meal for anyone in our community. Community Breakfast This free breakfast is held the second Saturday of each month in our fellowship hall. It is supported by members of our congregation and other organizations and businesses. It is open to anyone who would like to come for breakfast. Fair Trade Products Fair Trade products are available for sale in the gathering area. These items include, coffee, tea, and chocolate.
